August 2026: Working Smarter, Thinking Bigger, and Building Connections

Building Sustainable Funding: Connecting Grants, Donors, and Boards for Greater Impact

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce

Our August 2026 Nonprofit Impact Workshop brought nonprofit professionals together for a morning focused on one of the biggest challenges organizations face: building sustainable funding for the work that matters.

Through three interactive sessions, we explored how boards, donors, and grants each play a role in a strong and diversified funding strategy. Glenda Hicks shared how nonprofits can activate their boards for fundraising excellence, Brian Pruett explored how to turn donors into true partners, and Melanie Lambert helped attendees build a smarter, more strategic approach to grants.

Just like our first workshop, this wasn’t a morning of simply sitting and listening. Attendees asked questions, worked through ideas, shared their own experiences, and connected with other nonprofit professionals doing important work throughout our community.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make our second Nonprofit Impact Workshop another morning full of learning, collaboration, and connection.

Take a look at a few highlights from the morning below!

“From a sponsor perspective, everything was incredibly easy. Having a table provided, a strategic location in the room, time to share directly with attendees, and plenty of time to set up made for a great experience. I also loved how the raffle was incorporated. It gave attendees another reason to engage with sponsors!”

“Everything was laid out really well, from the space and timing of sponsor speaking opportunities to the breaks and clear communication. It was a great opportunity for us to be there, and I’ve already had someone reach out about our services as a direct result of the workshop.”
